Hear that? That's the big flush of the astrological commode as Neptune just left Pisces and entered Aries on March 30th. It will be floating there (more or less) until 2039.

It had been mellowing in its native Pisces since 2011, so this marks a broader societal shift, a purge of our societal plumbing, to use the final toilet metaphor of this newsletter.

I'm glad I got that out of my system ;)

The last time Neptune was in Aries was 1861-1874, an era defined by the American Civil War and the Reconstruction Era that followed.

One of the main qualities of Neptune’s energy is the dissolution of boundaries and borders, both physical and spiritual. With Neptune in Aries, this call to dissolve boundaries is charged with immediacy and action.

It’s easy to see these themes in the explosive American Civil War and the Reconstruction period after. It was a war over both political boundaries and boundaries in our social consciousness. It was a time when society was working to dissolve the social barriers and contradictions of a nation built on enslaved labor that also touted values like freedom, equality, and community.

And now, we're feeling an explosive return of that energy, in a different social and spiritual context. Modern systems of exploitation (remnants of the systems that defined the last period of Neptune in Aries) are beginning to dissolve under Neptune’s influence, and Aries is demanding action and urgency.

Spiritually and socially, this Neptune transit asks us to trade complacency for courage, to do the work to dissolve what's blocking us from our next phase of spiritual evolution.

As sound healers, it's a good time to reflect on the boundaries in the mind and energy that prevent us from changing. Where have you or I been happily (or unhappily) believing an illusion that is keeping us stuck. Where are your students or clients still stuck in a Piscean dream of their own? Think about how you can integrate these ideas into your meditations and sound baths.

As the individual person changes and evolves, it moves the needle forward for everyone else. Notice what your clients and students are working on. It will give you insights on what must be dissolved and reconstructed, internally and externally, as a society. You will learn more about what illusions need to be shattered, for the many–as cultures, nations, religious–for the whole of humanity.
