I'm fascinated by the interplay between narrative, performance, multimedia, reality gaming, and everything in-between. I am entranced by the way that these elements can work together to affect the receiver, and the potential impact of a well-planned, well-thought project or campaign, whether artistic, commercial, or somewhere in the ocean between.
Video is the perfect medium to tie together all of those threads. Through this creative alchemical process, you can bring the viewer to a specific mental and emotional place, to "the moment of recognition", giving them an "aha!" moment where they feel they understand, and they believe they came to that understanding on their own. They confidently believe — "this is the solution, this is the path forward."
"Watcher on the Gateway, 1993" was the second single from my current musical project, Dream Ghoul and our debut album, "A Forgotten Future" (2024). The footage of my face was shot by my collaborator and bandmate, Lindsey Yoneda. I designed the original makeup concept which was executed by Lindsey Yoneda.
I directed and edited the final video. The footage was sourced from the public domain section of the Internet Archive. The theme of the song and the video is "The present is haunted by the ghosts of history."
I edited this first teaser to help promote the self-release of the "A Forgotten Future" (2024), along with an ambient interlude from the album, "Innerspace Quality Calibration Interlude No. 8.12".

I edited this teaser to help promote the self-release of the album "A Forgotten Future" (2024), along with the third single "Threshold Experience, 1989".

"Sunshine" was the first single from my former band, Oquoa and our first full-length release, "Timesquares" (2019). This video was shot entirely on my iPhone and edited using iMovie.
This was the first music video I ever shot, directed, and edited. As my first attempt at production, I went for a loose, impressionistic theme exploring texture, color, and overlay.
I shot and edited this teaser to help promote the self-release "Timesquares" (2019). It was designed using small pieces of the final, full music video (above) for the first single, "Sunshine".
Koshi Chimes are beloved by sound therapists and chime aficionados alike. Koshi uses a unique design that creates soothing tones. Each chime is tuned to match the feeling of one of the four Platonic elements, conveying each of the four archetypal qualities of nature.
While Gongs Unlimited has the market cornered on gongs, Koshi Chimes are far more competitive. We wanted to create an eye-catching ad that would help give us an edge over our competitors. Sticking with the elemental theme, I designed and animated five colorful slides with a quick bite of information for each elemental chime.
In the last year, we decided that we didn't have enough ads showing actual sound therapists and practitioners in their environment. We needed to create more content that helped potential customers picture themselves playing with singing bowls and gongs in their own home or studio.
With a huge customer base of experienced sound therapists with their own online following, we started working with people to help us generate content. This video was created using raw footage from a sound bath practitioner in our community (known as Path to Moksha).
Path to Moksha gave us three videos where he sits and plays his singing bowls in front of his gong setup in his home studio. Since we have two separate online stores — Unlimited Singing Bowls and Gongs Unlimited — we wanted to get as much out of the content as possible.
We were able to get four different ads out of the videos he sent us. Two of the videos were tailored to driving traffic to our gong store, two were tailored to our Singing Bowl customer base. This one was tailored to people looking for gong and stand combos, people seeking an all-in-one solution.
